May 2017 Income Report

It’s the beginning of the month and that means I am publishing my income report for last month! If you have been following my income reports, you can skip to where it says MAY INCOME. If not, continue reading!

I started this blog on January 30, 2017. That date is when I posted a link to Upscale Cheapskate on my Facebook timeline for the very first time. I always wanted to start a blog but never really pushed myself to do it. Ive been posting on my blog for almost 5 months now and Im still loving it! I don’t see myself ever getting tired of it. It’s a great creative outlet and something that I look forward to working on every week.

I am trying to add little things here and there to help make Upscale Cheapskate profitable. There is so much to learn in the blogging world that it’s sometimes overwhelming!

I want to take all of you guys, my readers, on this experience with me! Part of that means I want to share when/how/if I make money off the blog or any side income. How bloggers made money was always a little mysterious to me, and after doing tons of research, I want to share with you guys, too!

Ibotta: $21

I got a few referrals and cash back this month using Ibotta. I highly recommend this app if you want to save money on groceries and other shopping items without using coupons!

AirBnB: $20

In May I got an AirBnB referral which gave me a $20 credit. It’s not actual cash deposited into my account but I still really value this credit since I use AirBnB for most of my travel accommodations! Click here to use my code and get $40 off your first stay!

Other Side Income: $60

I made $60 in May from selling things on a local Facebook yard sale site. I have been doing a 4 week minimalist challenge – read about here. Every week, when I clean out another area of my home, I find things I can easily sell online!

Total: $101

I am happy because I increased my side income from last month by $20! I hope to keep increasing every month. I am thinking about trying to do some freelance writing this month but I haven’t decided if I should take the leap or not!

Do you do anything for side income?
