Making goals for yourself is so important for success. There is no way to make improvements in your life, if you don’t know what you want or how to get there. Making goals is also a great way to motivate yourself and hold yourself accountable.
I decided to start publishing monthly goals for myself on the blog. When I publish next month’s goals, I will reflect on my success/failure from last month. Hopefully, there will be more success than failure! I think by publishing my goals, it will encourage me to stay committed since I have to confess my failures publicly!
May 2017 Goals:
- Workout 3x a week. I like to run but I haven’t been consistent with it recently. I find myself making excuses for why I cant go on a run – it’s too hot, it’s too cold, it’s too early, I need to cook dinner, etc. No more excuses! I really want to make myself run at least 3 times a week!
- Hang all my artwork/pictures/mirrors around the house. We have been in our new home for almost a year and still haven’t hung anything on the walls other than curtains! We have 3 weeks off from grad school this month before summer classes start. I will hang my pictures during that time if it kills me!
- Meatless meals. I am starting to reflect more on the necessity of meat in my diet. I want to start making at least one meatless meal a week.
- Increase side income: I made $80 in the month of April from my blog. I want to increase this number for the month of May – even if it is just a little bit!
I hope my “goals” posts will encourage you to write down your goals as well. I think making a physical list can help you be more successful because it makes it more real. Do you have any goals for this month? What are your tactics for achieving short-term goals?
